I joined the Argonaut in Jan 70 as an RO3(G). Spent a fantastic 12 months on Far East deployment in 1971, still have fantastic memories of South Africa, Mombers, Singers, Hong Kong and Japan. Left her in 1973 but was drafted back in 1986 as the RS and had many good runs ashore and times (Richard Bransons ballon comes to mind).

I am the daughter-in-law of Wm H. Procter (95), who was a Lieutenant on HMS Argonaut when you father was Chief Petty Officer. He is visiting with us in Canada and if you can identify him in the crew photo with Capt. McCarthy - all in whites, we can perhaps jog his memory. His memory is pretty sharp, so he may be able to help. He leaves in 10 days, so there is some urgency. I believe that there is still an article he wrote on the Argo site.

I JOINED ARGO AS A RO IN HONG KONG 1975 AND HAD A GREAT TIME. CHECKED OUT THIS SIGHT FOR FIRST TIME AND FOUND IT INTRESTING
